I went into the Montezuma shop last week for a milky chocolate hit and was very intrigued by the Spotted Dick Pudding bar. I was expecing some currants and a hint of custard and some sponge cake bits for that recognisable pudding taste. However the ingredients listed were raisins and hazelnuts which I like anyway so I bought it and found the taste ok but quite ordinary.

I've been there recently. In Austria we also have high-class chocolatiers and I do know the best ones in Italy, Switzerland and France too but what I tasted here is comparabele with the very best !

Delightful find in Notting Hill. Lovely ambience. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful guiding us through the ranges from artisan chocolatiers - so much choice! There was a quiet, comfortable corner where we enjoyed a delicious hot chocolate (tea or coffee available too). We shall be back!

We were recently in London and had the pleasure of staying at a fine hotel whose evening gift with turn down service was a small one piece box of chocolate per guest. I was assuming that this would be a treat, but was not prepared for the quality and taste of the WIlliam Curley chocolate. Luckily there were three of us in the room and we stayed for 6 nights. Each of us had a favorite, but I challenge anyone to find a finer luxury than the caramel and sea salt piece. It was a truly wonderful addition to the memories of the Queen's 60th. celebration.

The chocolates are lovely but the shop is a bit cold. I've been there for events and it was great and buzzy and lovely but when I have gone in on my own it is a bit less warm.

This could be because there are a number of people who simply come in, eac the sample chocolates which are out and leave. Perhaps after days and days of that, it becomes difficult to know if you are there for free chocolate or to buy.

Also one of the staff confided in me that they didn't like chocolate. It makes it slightly difficult to be passionate about what you do if you don't like what you're selling :-)
